January 27, 2015 - I want to see!

ACIM Workbook Lesson #27
"Above all else I want to see."

Today I look forward to having the single-minded exercise of wanting to see. Yesterday was spent tying up loose ends with the closing of my gallery. I became sadder as the day progressed. I've been told that attachment brings with it a loss of self when that to which we attach ourselves is gone. I don't feel a loss of self, but a sadness that the beauty, grace, and just pure fun associated with that business is no longer going to be. I will miss it. So today I will bring thought back to my purpose of desiring one thing: to know God. In the act of returning thought to Love whenever it is tempted to fall into sadness, I will see new views, which would only be hidden by a desire to look back. I am grateful for the spiritual study which keeps my eye single!

Mary Baker Eddy quote: "The substance, Life, intelligence, Truth, and Love, which constitute Deity, are reflected by His creation;6and when we subordinate the false testimony of thecorporeal senses to the facts of Science, we shall see this true likeness and reflection everywhere." February 21, 2012 - To see or not to see

ACIM workbook lesson #52:
Today is the second of a ten-day review of the first lessons. For a guide to this review, and a short description of each of the five, go to this link: http://acim.org/Lessons/lesson.html?lesson=52

[Marsha's thoughts]
We who are practicing metaphysicians often hear words like these: "Get real! Face facts! Pull your head out of the sand!" I usually just smile and say, "You may be right", and politely wander away. Trying to explain my actions to the spiritually-deaf ear would be akin to explaining purple to a blind child. But if I were asked to do that, it would have to be through feeling the color and allowing that sight to pass to the sightless. And so rather than explaining -- or worse, arguing! -- I will feel Love, the spiritual reality, while allowing the material argument to pass through and be gone. I have not always been so easy to get along with! Recently I've had a chance to spend time with an old friend who will be moving far, far away. A number of years ago, she and I had an altercation which was deeply interconnected to lots of areas in our friendship. If either she or I had held onto the past, we wouldn't share the palpable Oneness we feel today. As this lesson tells us, it's not a choice of seeing past or present, but a choice to see or not to see. Where I've chosen to shade my thoughts with unreality, I will choose again and flow in Oneness with God.

 Mary Baker Eddy quote:
"Spiritual causation is the one question to be considered, for more than all others spiritual causation relates to human progress. The age seems ready to approach this subject, to ponder somewhat the supremacy of Spirit, and at least to touch the hem of Truth's garment."

ACIM Lesson #270
“I will not use the body's eyes today.”

From Sandy Starbird's fabric primal images series

“Father, Christ's vision is Your gift to me, and it has power to translate all that the body's eyes behold into the sight of a forgiven world.

[Marsha's thoughts]
Being part of the art community in Eureka Springs brings many opportunities to see through others' eyes into the depth of their connections to All That Is. I love talking to these artists in the Eureka Thyme Family and seeing their reflections come to life in physical form! And from these reflections emanate energies seen to all who are willing to look within. Love is the creator and Love is the appreciator. In these times of shifting thought, many of us are frightened by the feelings and insights we are having. Our artists lead the way fearlessly because they are accustomed to allowing other-dimensional energy into their experience. But even those used to being this conduit for spirit are feeling a difference in the flow. It could be interpreted as a blockage, but it can also be the calm before the deluge of never-before-felt creation. As their egos move away from center stage, something else is opening up and bringing forth guidance. And by the act of looking upon these palpably loving works of Art, I am taken to other realms of sight. The expressions take me past the obvious into the ethereal. Every instance of this "seeing through the veil" brings us closer to our goal of seeing that way all the time. Slipping into the silence between thoughts, seeing past the obvious, hearing within -- all this and more seek our awareness. Listen, See, Be.

Mary Baker Eddy quote:
“Spiritual vision is not subordinate to geometric altitudes. Whatever is governed by God, is never for an instant deprived of the light and might of intelligence and Life.”
